For years, I toured internationally as an independent singer-songwriter. At one of those shows in a small town in Maryland, I met a guy who told me that if I asked him one more question, I'd have to go to dinner with him.
I asked another question.
More than a decade later, we're married, have three wonderful children, and I spend my days helping people build stronger relationships as a couples therapist.
Life changed. The songs changed, too.
I traded chasing a music career in Los Angeles for the beautiful, complicated, joyful mess of family life. Somewhere along the way, I realized those experiences hadn't taken me away from songwriting—they had given me something new to write about.
