I’m glad you’re here.

If you found me through a podcast, welcome.

I’m Kat Parsons, a singer-songwriter, couples therapist, and mom of three. I write songs about parenthood, love, loss, humor, and the way the sweetest and hardest parts of life can exist at the same time.

Stay connected

If something in the conversation you just heard felt familiar, I’d love to stay connected.

Listen to The Sweetness Is Now

My first new record in thirteen years is out now.

Five songs about parenthood, love, loss, and the beautiful complexity of being alive.

A few songs to start with

Let My Love
Everything in me wants to protect my kids from pain. I wrote this song as a reminder to myself to let go of that impulse and trust that they can handle their lives, and that experiencing hard things is part of how they learn and grow. My love can be with them without saving them from everything.

Fly Away
A song I wrote after a miscarriage.

Parenthood is about the comic, exhausting, contradictory intensity of raising young children, and how enormous tenderness can coexist with wanting bedtime to arrive immediately.

“Songwriting and therapy are different ways of saying the same thing:

You’re not the only one.”
